Cuban Missile Crisis
In July 1959, Fidel Castro led a revolution in Cuba to overthrow Fulgencio Batista. Once Castro had control of Cuba, he turned it into a Communist nation. The United States did not like this because the United States was trying to stop the spread of Communism. This causes the United States to try to get rid of Castro.
The Bay of Pigs invasion was an attempt to oust Castro. The outcome is that a number of the rebels will be imprisoned and it is played out that the United States tried to attack Cuba. Cuba will stay communist and Castro will win the Time magazine person of the year.
In July 1962, Nikita Khrushchev will decide to help Cuba by helping their military. The United States discover these actions by their spy planes taking images of missiles and launchers on Cuba. President John F. Kennedy, sends ships and men out to Cuba and also try to negotiate with the country. For the next days, the world feared the start of World War III. The resolution President John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev came to were the Soviets and the Cubans will get rid of the launchers and the United States had to leave Cuba alone and get rid of their launchers in Turkey.
